Software Engineer (Backend / Laravel — Finance)

Who we are

AdZoic is an ad-buying platform. Brands and agencies tell us their goal and budget, and our AI buys the right ads for them, in real time — on streaming TV, online video, websites, apps, audio and digital billboards. We're a small team in Dhaka, and we build and run all of it ourselves.

Why this role matters

This role owns the money. Every taka that moves through AdZoic — advertiser spend, publisher payouts, platform fees — passes through the systems you build. Finance closes their books with your numbers, and publishers get paid based on them. You'll own the billing and reconciliation layer in Laravel: financial services that are accurate, auditable, and never lose a transaction.

What you'll do

• Build and maintain our billing systems in Laravel (PHP 8+): invoicing, spend tracking, platform fees and publisher payouts.
• Write the reconciliation logic that matches what we spent on the DSP side against what we earned on the SSP side — down to the last taka.
• Make every financial transaction safe: idempotent (running it twice never double-charges), consistent and fully auditable.
• Design database schemas for money — ledger tables, transaction logs and balances that stay correct under concurrent updates.
• Integrate payment providers and accounting tools, and handle their failures gracefully — retries, timeouts and partial failures without losing money.
• Build clean reporting feeds for revenue analytics and financial planning.
• Test the hard cases: race conditions, duplicate webhooks, currency rounding and mid-month plan changes.

What you'll bring

• 3+ years of backend engineering, with real experience in billing, payments or other transactional systems where correctness matters.
• Strong, hands-on Laravel and PHP skills.
• Strong SQL: transactions, locking, isolation levels and schemas designed so money can never silently go missing.
• A working understanding of idempotency, consistency and reconciliation patterns.
• A careful, rigorous mindset — you write tests for the failure cases, not just the happy path.
• Ownership — you ship it, you run it, you fix it.

Nice to have

• Node.js, Java or Go experience for our other backend services.
• Experience with real-time data pipelines (Kafka, ClickHouse or similar).
• AdTech or OpenRTB experience — not required; strong engineering matters more.

Schedule & location

• 11:00 AM – 7:00 PM (Bangladesh time), Sunday to Thursday.
• Hybrid — 3 days in the office, 2 days from home.
• House 42, Road 08, Block D, Niketan, Gulshan, Dhaka 1212.
